1. Licence grant
Subject to these terms and your compliance with them, [[Operator Legal Name]] grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the HoverStash desktop application (the “Software”) on the number of devices covered by your purchased licence (currently one active device per licence), solely for your own use.
2. Restrictions
You must not:
- copy, distribute, sublicense, rent, or resell the Software except as expressly permitted by these terms or UK law;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent UK law expressly permits;
- modify or create derivative works of the Software, except where UK law permits it for interoperability purposes;
- remove or alter any copyright notices, trade marks, or licence keys;
- circumvent or attempt to circumvent any licensing, update, or activation mechanism;
- share your licence key with anyone else.
3. Updates
The Software includes an auto-updater. We may provide updates automatically where it is necessary for security, compatibility, or licensing changes. Feature updates are delivered under the update window of your licence (12 months from purchase, extended by each renewal).
4. Open-source components
The Software includes open-source components distributed under their own licences (listed in the app's About screen or in the release notes). Those licences continue to apply to those components.
5. Term + termination
This Licence starts on the date you first install the Software and continues until terminated. We may terminate if you breach these terms materially (e.g. reverse-engineering, licence sharing). On termination you must stop using the Software and, where applicable, uninstall it from your devices. Sections 1 (where they limit use), 6 (liability), and 7 (governing law) survive termination.
6. Liability
The Software is provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by UK law and without prejudice to your statutory rights as a consumer, we exclude all liability for indirect, consequential, or lost-profits damages. Our aggregate liability is capped at the amount you paid us for the Licence in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the liability.
Nothing in this Licence limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under UK law.
7. Governing law
This Licence is governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to consumer-protection rules that entitle you to bring proceedings in your local courts.
